About.
When's the last time something stopped you in your tracks and made you wonder? Well, Alula was born from that same wonder.
As a kid, I watched lizards dart across my grandmother's backyard and butterflies migrate along California's coast. I was in awe of every animal I encountered, their colors, patterns, and movements.
Decades later, not much has changed, I'm still finding wonder in the beauty and resilience of wildlife and the places they call home. So it's no surprise I ended up building my education and career around wildlife conservation.
Whether it be fisheries surveys and river otter research in California, or supporting pygmy-owl radio telemetry and Mexican wolf recovery in the desert southwest, I've spent years committed to supporting wildlife, whether in the field or from behind a desk. Through every encounter, my curiosity and admiration for these species grew, and I began to wonder how I could connect others to wildlife in meaningful ways. And so my passion for translating conservation and science into stories that connect people with wildlife and the places they call home grew.
Somewhere along the way, a creative spark took hold, and what started as gifts for family and friends turned into years of jewelry making. I’ve always admired the way that jewelry carries stories, holds significance, sparks conversation, and brings joy. This admiration got me thinking, if jewelry can hold so much meaning, what else could it do?
Alula exists at the intersection of art, craftsmanship, and wildlife conservation. With each piece, and with a little fun folded in along the way, Alula shares wildlife stories and educational content, because conversations about conservation can be just as vibrant as the species themselves. To take it one step further, ten percent of every sale goes directly to organizations doing on-the-ground work for these species and the habitats they depend on.
Come find a little wonder and wear wild, the Alula way.
